We often get asked about the best way to care for your lingerie, so I thought I'd share my own tips that have helped me keep my own lingerie looking as good as new.
To machine wash or not to machine wash?
We all know that hand washing items is the best way to care for them, and for items that are particularly delicate hand-washing is a must. However, for things like bras and pants, it should be possible to wash them in your machine, provided that you follow some basic guidelines...
- Wash at a low temperature (30 degrees) and use a delicate cycle.
- Use a washing liquid specifically designed for delicates, and make sure that it does not contain optical brightners, as the bleaching effect can alter the colours and destroy the structure of delicate fabrics.
- Most important: Place your items in a laundry bag, like this one. They're really cheap and will help to ensure your items do not get damaged.
